For small farmers and businesses to compete with huge, global industries they need to find a niche. Woolgatherer Carding Mill and Shepherd's Dream have found one of these special markets. We see a growing number of consumers who are willing to pay a fair price for the quality products that we create.
When we began working with woolgrowers 20 years ago, most farmers paid little attention to the chemicals that their sheep were exposed to. As we created relationships with farmers and offered higher prices for better and cleaner wool, we saw that the quality of wool increased drastically. Now we are beginning to see an increased demand for wool that is Certified Organic. We are excited to continue cooperating with regional woolgrowers to move in this direction.
